Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Wellesley, MA

One-of-a-kind homes deserve one-of-a-kind care. From century-old Colonials to brand-new builds, Ray DeMeo, IICRC Master Textile Cleaner, does every job himself.

No Two Wellesley Homes Are Alike

Wellesley has a little of everything: Colonials and Tudors from the early 1900s, Victorians, mid-century ranches, and new homes built where older ones once stood. Inside, that means original oak floors next to new wool carpet, family heirlooms next to performance fabrics, and natural stone in kitchens and baths.

That mix is why I never clean two homes the same way. I look at what you have, test it, and choose the method that fits it. I'm based in Waltham, a short drive away, and I've done this work personally since 2007. When you call Sunshine, you get Ray, not a rotating crew.

What I Clean in Wellesley Homes

Ray DeMeo, owner of Sunshine Cleaning Systems, wearing shoe covers while vacuuming carpet before cleaning it.

Carpet Cleaning

Wall-to-wall wool and synthetic carpet, stairs and runners, cleaned with the right method for the fiber.

Upholstery and Fine Fabric

Sofas, dining chairs and heirloom pieces. Every fabric is identified and tested before anything touches it.

Area Rug Cleaning

Machine-made rugs cleaned right in your home. Hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs go to a trusted local rug plant.

Tile, Grout and Natural Stone

Kitchens, baths and mudrooms, including marble and slate, with grout sealing for cement-based grout.

Mattress Cleaning

A deep clean with plant-based anti-allergen products. I recommend waiting overnight before you sleep on it.

Pet Stain and Odor Removal

Accidents found at the source and treated, not just covered up.

Vinyl and LVP Floors

Deep cleaning for the resilient floors in newer kitchens, mudrooms and basements.

Water Damage

Extraction, drying and moisture checks when a pipe, appliance or storm puts water where it shouldn't be.

Careful With the Old, Right for the New

Older and Historic Homes

Much of Wellesley was built before World War II. Before any equipment comes inside, my tools go on a protective tarp, so nothing sits on original floors. Antique upholstery and older wool carpet get tested before they get cleaned.

New Builds and Renovations

New carpet, performance fabrics and natural stone each come with their own care needs. I follow the manufacturer's guidelines, so your warranty stays protected, and I seal stone with penetrating sealers matched to the stone, never a topical coating.

Busy Family Homes

Mudrooms, playrooms and the dog's favorite corner of the sofa. Before I start, I'll tell you honestly what will come out and what won't.

A Little Wellesley History

Wellesley was first settled in the 1630s and became its own town in 1881, after splitting from Needham. It takes its name from the Hunnewell family estate on Lake Waban. Horatio Hollis Hunnewell married Isabella Welles in 1836, and the gardens the family planted along the lake are still there.

Wellesley College opened in the 1870s, followed by Dana Hall School and later Babson College, and every April the Boston Marathon passes the college near the halfway mark. Since the early 2000s, hundreds of older homes have been replaced with new ones, which is why so many streets mix 1920s Tudors with houses built last year.

Wellesley FAQs

  • Do you serve all of Wellesley?

Yes. Every Wellesley neighborhood is inside my service area, from Wellesley Square and Wellesley Hills to Wellesley Farms, Lower Falls and Babson Park. I'm based in Waltham, a short drive away. Call or message me and I'll give you a real time window.
  • Our home is over 100 years old. How do you protect the original floors?

I look at the space before any equipment comes inside. My tools and supplies sit on a protective tarp, never directly on original wood. Antique upholstery and older wool carpet get tested before anything is applied.
  • We just built or renovated. Can you clean new carpet, fabrics and stone?

Yes. New carpet and furniture often come with manufacturer care requirements, and I follow them so your warranty stays protected. For marble, granite and other natural stone, I use cleaners and penetrating sealers matched to the stone, never a topical coating.
  • Can you clean our Oriental rugs?

It depends on how the rug was made. Machine-made rugs I clean right in your home. Hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs need full-immersion cleaning, so I refer you to a trusted local rug plant that has been doing it for over 120 years.
  • Will it be you or a crew?

It's me, every time. I'm the owner, and I take one job a day, so your home gets my full attention from start to finish.

Call or message me and I'll take a look. You'll get an honest read on what your carpet, rugs, upholstery or tile actually need, and what's realistic. No pressure.
