Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Needham, MA

From 1950s Capes to brand-new rebuilds, Needham homes get careful, personal cleaning from Ray DeMeo, IICRC Master Textile Cleaner.

Needham Homes Keep Changing

Drive down almost any street in Needham, and you'll see it: a 1950s Cape next to a house that went up last year. Much of the town was built in the decades after World War II, and today nearly every new home rises where an older one stood.

That mix shows up inside, too: original hardwood in one house, brand-new carpet and performance fabrics in the next, and a finished basement in many of them. Whatever you have, I look at it, test it, and clean it the right way. I'm based in Waltham, a short drive away, and I've done this work personally since 2007. No crews and no subcontractors, just me.

Made for New Homes and Busy Families

New Builds and Rebuilds

New carpet, performance fabrics and stone each come with care rules. I follow the manufacturer's guidelines, so your warranty stays intact.

Finished Basements

Basement carpet, LVP and tile take a beating from kids, pets and the occasional leak. I clean all of it, and if water gets in, I handle the extraction and drying too.

Kids, Pets and Everyday Life

Juice on the sectional, the dog's favorite spot on the rug, crayon on the stairs. You'll get a straight answer about what will come out before I start.

A Little Needham History

Needham was settled in 1680 and became its own town in 1711, when families north of the Charles River broke away from Dedham. It took its name from Needham Market in Suffolk, England. In 1881, the town's western half split off in turn and became Wellesley.

In 1865, William Carter opened a knitting mill in Needham Heights that grew into the Carter's children's clothing brand. The town's population jumped by more than half in the 1930s, and the postwar years filled its streets with Capes and ranches, many of which are now giving way to new homes. Today Needham is also home to Olin College of Engineering.

Needham FAQs

  • Do you serve all of Needham?

Yes. Every Needham neighborhood is inside my service area, from Needham Center and Needham Heights to Birds Hill and Charles River Village. I'm based in Waltham, a short drive away. Call or message me and I'll give you a real time window.

  • We just moved into a new build. Will cleaning the carpet affect the warranty?

Many carpet warranties actually call for professional cleaning on a regular schedule. I follow the manufacturer's guidelines and hold manufacturer certifications, including Shaw, so the cleaning supports your warranty instead of putting it at risk.

  • Do you clean finished basements?

Yes. Carpet, LVP and tile are all common in Needham basements, and I clean all three. If water gets in from a pipe, sump pump or storm, I also handle extraction, drying and moisture checks.

  • We have kids and a dog. How long until we can use the room again?

Kids and pets should stay off until everything is dry. Carpet drying depends on the fiber and the method, and upholstery usually needs to dry until the next day. I can bring high-velocity fans to speed it up, and I'll give you a time estimate for your home before I start.

  • Who actually shows up?

I do. Sunshine is a one-person business by design. I take one job a day, so your home gets my full attention from the first test spot to the last pass.

Call or message me and I'll take a look. You'll get an honest read on what your carpet, rugs, upholstery or tile actually need, and what's realistic. No pressure.
