Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in Sudbury, MA

From postwar ranches to four-bedroom Colonials on wooded lots, Sudbury homes get careful, personal cleaning from Ray DeMeo, IICRC Master Textile Cleaner.

Room to Spread Out in Sudbury

Sudbury’s one-acre zoning kept the town open and green, and its homes followed suit. Most are single-family houses, and about six in ten have four or more bedrooms. You'll find 1950s ranches and raised ranches, 1970s and '80s Colonials, and homes built in the last 20 years.

More rooms mean more carpet, more stairs, and more furniture, and each piece has its own needs. I look at what you have, test it, and clean it the right way. I'm based in Waltham, straight off Route 20, and I've done this work personally since 2007. No crews and no subcontractors, just me.

What I Clean in Sudbury Homes

Ray DeMeo, owner of Sunshine Cleaning Systems, wearing shoe covers while vacuuming carpet before cleaning it.

Carpet Cleaning

Bedrooms, hallways, stairs and lower-level family rooms, cleaned with the method that suits the fiber.

Upholstery and Fine Fabric

The family-room sectional, the formal living room sofa and the dining chairs, each fabric identified before cleaning.

Area Rug Cleaning

Machine-made rugs cleaned in your home. Hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs go to a trusted local rug plant.

Tile, Grout and Natural Stone

Kitchens, baths and mudroom floors, including marble and slate, with sealing for cement-based grout.

Mattress Cleaning

Plant-based anti-allergen products for every bed in the house. Plan to wait overnight before sleeping on it.

Pet Stain and Odor Removal

I track down where an accident soaked in and treat it at the source, so the odor doesn't return.

Vinyl and LVP Floors

Deep cleaning for the vinyl plank in updated kitchens, mudrooms and lower levels.

Water Damage

Extraction, drying and moisture checks when a pipe, water heater or storm sends water into the lower level.

Ranches, Colonials and Everything in Between

Ranches and Raised Ranches

Many of Sudbury's postwar homes have a carpeted lower level that serves as the family room or playroom. Those rooms see heavy traffic and the occasional leak, and I handle the cleaning and, when needed, the drying.

Big Colonials

Four bedrooms, a long staircase, and a formal living room add up to a lot of carpet and upholstery. I'll look at every room you want done and tell you what to expect before I start.

Wooded Lots, Trails, and Muddy Paws

Pine needles, pollen, and trail mud find their way inside on a one-acre lot. Tracked-in soil usually cleans up well, and I'll be honest about any stain that may not.

A Little Sudbury History

Sudbury was settled in 1638 and incorporated in 1639, making it one of the oldest towns in Massachusetts. Its first boundaries took in what is now Wayland, which split off in 1780, and parts of Framingham, Marlborough, Stow and Maynard. Today's town center grew up around a meetinghouse built in 1723, at a spot then called Rocky Plains.

The Wayside Inn, which claims to be the country's oldest operating inn, inspired Longfellow's 1863 Tales of a Wayside Inn, the book that gave us "Paul Revere's Ride." Henry Ford bought the inn in 1923 and added the grist mill and the Martha-Mary Chapel. After World War II, Raytheon opened a research center in town, and one-acre zoning shaped the ranches and Colonials that line Sudbury's roads today.

Sudbury FAQs

  • Do you serve all of Sudbury?

Yes. Every part of Sudbury is inside my service area, from Sudbury Center and South Sudbury to North Sudbury and the Wayside Inn area. I'm based in Waltham, a short drive east on Route 20. Call or message me, and I'll give you a real time window.

  • Our raised ranch has a carpeted lower level. Can you clean it?

Yes. Lower-level carpet often gets the most wear in the house, from kids, pets, and everyday traffic. I clean it along with any tile or LVP down there, and if water gets in from a pipe or storm, I also handle extraction, drying, and moisture checks.

  • Our dog comes in muddy from the trails. Will that come out of the carpet?

Tracked-in dirt usually cleans up well with a professional cleaning. Pet accidents are a different problem because they soak into the padding below, and I treat those at the source. I'll look first and tell you what to expect before I start.

  • Can you clean our Oriental rugs?

It depends on how the rug was made. Machine-made rugs I clean right in your home. Hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs need full-immersion cleaning, so I refer them to a trusted local rug plant that has done this work for over 120 years.

  • Will it be you or a crew?

It will be me. I own Sunshine Cleaning Systems and do every job myself, one home a day, so your home has my full attention from the first test spot to the final pass.

Call or message me and I'll take a look. You'll get an honest read on what your carpet, rugs, upholstery or tile actually need, and what's realistic. No pressure.
