Carpet, Upholstery and Floor Cleaning in Waltham, MA
Waltham isn't just where I work. It's home. I was born and raised here, and I've been cleaning carpets, rugs, upholstery, and floors in Waltham homes and businesses since 2007. I know the housing here: two-families and triple-deckers near Moody Street, colonials and capes in the neighborhoods off Lexington Street, and condos in converted mill buildings along the Charles. I know what Watch City winters do to floors, too: salt and sand ground into entryway carpet, slush tracked across hallways, and mud season that never seems to end. Every job starts with a careful inspection of what your carpet or rug is made of and what it's been through. Then I clean it the right way and tell you honestly what to expect. No call center, no rotating crew. Just your neighbor, doing the work himself.

Staircase Carpet Restoration — Waltham, MA

Years of foot traffic and pet accidents had left this staircase dark and blotchy. After a careful deep cleaning, the color and texture came back evenly from top to bottom.

Dental Office, Waltham: A New Floor That Looked Old
Before
After
Construction dust got sealed under a wax-like coating on this practice’s brand-new LVP. I checked with the manufacturer first, then safely removed the coating and the floor looked new again.
Commercial Floor, Waltham: Tire Marks and a Dull Finish
Before
Finished
Forklift marks and a worn finish made this floor look neglected. After cleaning and a fresh finish, the original colors came back. A few of the deepest marks remain, and I said so before I started.
Retail Store, Waltham: Same Floor, Same Day
Years of foot traffic had turned this tile a dingy tan. The cleaned section shows what the floor really looks like under all that soil.
What My Customers Are Saying

Ray from Sunshine Cleaning Systems is a hyper-focused professional carpet and upholstery cleaner... He can tell you down to the molecular properties of the fibers and the type of stain you have... There is no question that he is the best and most knowledgeable carpet cleaner in the greater Boston area.
The business owner and operator, Ray DeMeo, has high standards for his results. He's extremely knowledgeable, ethical, and kind. He vastly improved some very worn wall-to-wall carpets in a house we bought. He also cleaned refinished wood floors, also very well and knowledgeably. I'm an architect, and now I have his name to recommend to my clients for post-renovation cleaning.

Ray cleaned two of our area rugs last week and I was very happy with the service he provided. He showed up, right on time, with all kinds of equipment — some of it very high tech (including a “black light” to detect stains) — and did a great job on our rugs, which hadn’t been cleaned in 10 years. Before leaving, he dried the rugs with high-powered fans, so we could move the furniture right back. I would absolutely recommend him!

A City Built on Reinvention
The Waltham I Grew Up In
Waltham has reinvented itself for almost 400 years: the first factory in the world to spin and weave under one roof, the Waltham Watch Company that made us Watch City, and the Route 128 boom that turned us into a tech hub. I grew up in the middle of all of it.
Some of my strongest memories of this city aren't in any history book. Dean Dairy sat right at the corner of Warren Street and Beaver Street — an actual dairy, with cows on the property, selling ice cream, frappes, and soft serve. I rode my bike there all the time during the summer as a teenager. It closed around 2001, and houses sit on the lot today.
DeVincent Farm was just up Beaver Street, and the land ran all the way back toward Waverly Oaks Road and Linden Street. It closed in 1998, and Bentley University bought the 33-acre property the very next year because it bordered their lower campus. That same land is now Bentley's ice hockey arena, a soccer field, a parking lot, and the start of Waltham's Wayside Trail.
And if you remember Moe Black's on Lexington Street, you remember it the way most of us do — a two-building department-and-gardening store that sold everything from motor oil to sports gear, with a slogan that told you exactly what it was: “Your Dollar Buys More.” Waltham's own answer to Building 19, except it was ours.
The Waltham Supermarket at the corner of Harvard and Main is proof this city recycles its landmarks instead of losing them. It's been a Shaw's, then a Victory Supermarket, and today it's a Hannaford's. Different name on the sign a few times over, same corner, still doing what it's always done.
